Managing Credentials in the Password Manager

Follow

In order for the Clearlogin Password Manager to be able to automatically log you into your apps, it's going to need your username and password for each app (a one-time set-up, unless you change your credentials).

Note:  Please scroll past the following directions for instructions on how to add shared credentials, as well as individual user credentials as a Clearlogin administrator to Password Apps.

  1. To start, first navigate to your Clearlogin Dashboard either by clicking on the password manager button on the top right-hand corner of Chrome, or by navigating to https://yoursubdomain.clearlogin.com if you don't already have the Password Manager installed.

  2. Click on the lock icon near the top right-hand corner of the screen, below your e-mail address.

  3. You will be brought to your Personal Accounts page which has a list of your currently provisioned apps.  Click on the green plus button next to an app to add your credentials.

  4. Enter your credentials for the app that you chose.

  5. Click on either the blue Save button to be brought back to the Personal Accounts Page, or click on the blue Save and Log In button to save your credentials and also make sure that they worked (you will be brought directly to the app in it's logged in state, as though you accessed it from your dashboard).

  6. As you can see in the screenshot above, next to the app I configured, there is now a red button which can be clicked on in order to remove my credentials.

Next to the red X button is a blue pencil button which if clicked will bring you back to the app's credentials storage page, in case you ever need to modify your username and password.

  7. You have successfully added your credentials to your apps, congratulations!  Remember that if you change your credentials within an app you will have to update them in Clearlogin by using these steps.

Shared Credentials

You may have an account for a password manager app that is meant to be used by everyone who accesses the app.  If this is the case, you can perform the following steps to set up that account to be easily accessible by all of your users.

  1. Log into the Clearlogin admin panel:  https://admin.clearlogin.com
  2. Click on Apps and then select the app that you would like to add credentials to.

  3. On the App's page, click on Shared Account under "Account Management" on the right side.

  4. This is where you may enter the username and password for the shared account.  Don't forget to click on Save Shared Credentials at the bottom once you're done.

  5. When your users go to log into the app with shared credentials, they will be logged in like they would with any other Password App.  If they also have their own credentials entered for this app, they will be prompted to choose with credentials they want to log in with.

Entering Individual User Credentials as a Clearlogin Administrator

You may want to enter your users' individual credentials for them.  This can be done one of two ways; you may either upload the credentials in bulk via a Comma-Separated Value (CSV) file, or you may enter each users' credentials one-by-one.  Both methods are described here.

  1. Log into the Clearlogin admin panel:  https://admin.clearlogin.com
  2. Click on Apps and then select the app that you would like to add credentials to.

  3. On the App's page, click on User Accounts under "Account Management" on the right side.

  4. Note:  Skip this step if you are not uploading credentials via a CSV file.

On the proceeding page you may click on Upload CSV if you wish to upload a CSV file.

This will take you to the Import Credentials from CSV page, which contains a downloadable sample of how the CSV file should be formatted.  There is also a Destroy credentials not in CSV option which will remove all credentials (for the selected app only) for users that are not in the CSV file.

  5. On the proceeding page you may click on New Credentials in order to manually enter credentials on a per user basis.

  6. From the Add User Account page you may use the drop-down menu to select your user, and enter their username and password.  Make sure to click on Save Account when you're done.
